velvet dress from beacon's closet-$i don't know but it wasn't too expensive
tights from american apparel $25. expensive but pretty worth it. i bought the nude ones two years ago and only had to replace them with these black ones about a week ago, and i'm really hard on tights usually. american apparel has quality hosiery.
bats n cats necklace made by me
"bloody" zombie headband from the spirit store
i am really getting into the halloween spirit quite early this year. i don't know what to say other than i freaking love this holiday.
i've made a bunch of halloween necklaces lately. this is one of my favourites.
if you are american and a lady or love a lady or know a lady or think ladies are cool people, i'm hoping that you'll vote obama this november, because remember, he's the one who doesn't think a uterus is government property.
he is also the first president in history to embrace the idea of gay marriage. thanks barack. <3
this eye purse is the love of my life right now. it has spikes!
sorry about my stupid face (not really) but i got some 99 cent spiders at party city today.
i'm really liking long dresses lately and i'm really liking the fact that many of them are actually long enough for me! i'm attributing this to the popularity of high shoes like creepers and litas, because i'm sure many of the dresses i've found perfect for my six feet in flats would look great on shorter girls wearing heels.
here are some crappy cell phone pictures of amanda palmer. some are from tuesday night's webster hall show, others are from other times i've seen her (there are three shows represented here). i've seen amanda in various incarnations i think eight or nine times since i was thirteen. i am twenty now.
tuesday's show was the first time i went without my mom. she had to work.
this is what i wore.
amanda is such a huge part of my life. i don't know how i'd have made it through the end of middle school and the entirety of high school without her & the dresden dolls. i feel so lucky that i've been able to see her and meet her and be a part of her fan base throughout all the amazing things that have happened to me and to her--when she married my favourite author, when the dresden dolls broke up and then got back together, and when i met her and her husband (the incredible author neil gaiman) at their kickstarter party in brooklyn a few months ago. really, i'm so glad to have been able to grow and learn with the help of her music, and i hope to see her again in concert very soon.
i recently went and spent almost $100 on three pieces of jewelry at topshop. this is a lot for me--but i really loved the pieces. i'm wearing one of them, the choker, here.
the black velvet dress is from beacon's closet, if memory serves i got it for $12.
my mom got me the leather jacket for my birthday and it hasn't yet been appropriate to wear it. i really love it, though, and it's getting kind of chilly here in nyc, so i'm sure i'll get to wear it lots!
i love this woman. i'm going to see her in concert tomorrow--it'll be the 7th or 8th time, but the 1st time without my mother, who has to teach and can't come to the city to accompany me :c
